Top Sustainable Black Owned Brands
Happy Black Business Month!
This is by far is the best blog post that I will ever write. I am so glad that I get to share over 50 black owned brands that are either sustainable, clean, or toxic free. As this world slowly progresses into an environment that actually cares about its impact on our planet and our humanity and health, the more brands start to fall in line with providing safe and environmentally friendly products and services.
Why it is important to support black owned business?
Black owned businesses make up only 2.2% out of the 5.7 million employer businesses in the US as of 2018. That is only 1.3 million black owned business. We already know that the black population is under paid, under valued and most often, not given a fair chance in corporate America as well as in the entrepreneurial space. It’s so important to provide support to black owned business so that they are prosperous and successful.
For me, it is even more important to support black owned businesses that are on the eco friendly, non toxic journey and are actively conscious about the ingredients, materials, or products that they use.
Why it is important to support sustainable, non toxic brands?
There are over 1500 chemicals in food, clothing, beauty, and households, etc that have been banned in other countries in Europe and Australia that we use in the USA on a daily. In addition to those chemicals, we produce roughly 292 million tons of trash each year. That trash contains these harmful chemicals as well as the toxic emissions that these landfill we have around the world release into our air.
